Emmanuelle Vaugier (born June 23, 1976) is a Canadian film and television actress. Her biggest role to date has perhaps been as Dr. Helen Bryce, the love interest of Lex Luthor on Smallville.

She has also appeared on Higher Ground, Two and a Half Men and Supernatural. In feature films Vaugier has appeared alongside Michael Caine and Robert Duvall in Secondhand Lions, and in the Josh Hartnett vehicle 40 Days and 40 Nights.

Vaugier was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and grew up in a French-speaking French Canadian Catholic household. She divides her time between Los Angeles and Vancouver. She attended an all-girls private school for 10 years and is fluent in French.

Television

Emmanuelle Vaugier can be seen in her recurring role on Two and a Half Men, the CBS hit sitcom in which she plays Mia, a ballet teacher who is the object of Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen)'s attraction. She also completed a starring role in MOW Veiled Truth for the Lifetime Network. Her next role is in the Master of Horror series to be directed by John Carpenter.

She played the title character in the pilot episode of the television adaptation of the comic Painkiller Jane for the Sci Fi Channel. The series will feature Kristanna Loken. Based loosely on the Event Comics series by Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti, Painkiller Jane is a super-heroine for the new millennium. When Jane Browning (played by Vaugier) is exposed to a biochemical weapon that alters her genes, she becomes endowed with incredible self-healing powers and extraordinary physical and mental abilities. Richard Roundtree (Shaft, Desperate Housewives) and Tate Donovan (The O.C.) also star.

She is known as much for her turns on shows like Smallville and One Tree Hill as her appearances on the covers of magazines. Emmanuelle is back as Nikki in the television series One Tree Hill on The WB. She played a lead role in House of the Dead 2: Dead Aim, produced by Lions Gate and released in 2006. In 2004, she played Lindsey Kellogg on the short-lived Fox Television series North Shore. On Veronica Mars, she played Monica Hadwin. Vaugier played Lauren in Call Me, The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss (USA Network). She also portrayed Dr. Helen Bryce, Lex Luthor’s love interest on the WB’s hit drama Smallville.

On the small screen, she has held several guest-starring roles. including The Handler, The Outer Limits, Higher Ground, opposite Hayden Christensen, and in the WB’s Charmed as a gypsy in trouble and goes to The Charmed Ones for help. Emmanuelle also appeared in the Emmy Award nominated miniseries The Beach Boys: An American Family where she portrayed Mike Love’s wife, Suzanne. She played a sexy but tormented werewolf in Heart (on Supernatural).

Vaugier starred as Addison in Saw II and Saw IV. In the Canadian film Unearthed, Vaugier played Annie, the sheriff of a small rural desert town. She starred in the film 40 Days and 40 Nights, opposite Josh Hartnett.

She has completed starring roles in three independent films, including Suddenly Naked, in which she plays a Latin pop sensation, Mindstorm, a sci-fi thriller, and Ripper, a psychological thriller about students who mysteriously disappear after enrolling in a class about serial killers.

Maxim magazine featured her on the cover of the February 2006 issue in the United States, with the caption "Don't miss this girl; she's gonna be huge." Three months later, she landed spot #31 on their annual Hot 100 list.[2] She also appears in the video game Need for Speed: Carbon as Nikki.
