Brooke Burns on 'Zoey 101'

Jamie Lynn Spears is gradually making the transition from teen series to more matured sitcoms. While viewers are enjoying Spears on her current role as Zoey Brooks on Zoey 101 on Nickelodeon, fans have something to look forward to when the 16-year-old actress graces the upcoming comedy series Miss/Guided.

Miss/Guided, which is set to air in 2008 on ABC, will be featuring Spears apart from her down-to-earth teenager Zoey 101 role. According to Us Magazine, she will be playing an edgy “party girl.” As of the moment, there are no other details disclosed about her upcoming character but a show insider says that Spears is “a real pleasure to work with.”

Created by Gabrielle Allan and Caroline Williams, Miss/Guided follows the life of Becky Freeley (Judy Greer) a guidance counselor at a high school that she attended when she was a teenager. While the show gives viewers an inside look at the lives of both the students and faculty, the show is also about second chances, not only for Becky but for Lisa (Brooke Burns), a former cheerleader and rival of Becky in high school, who is now working as the school's English teacher.

Although this isn't her first time to guest star on a TV program, it's her first time to appear on a series with a primetime slot. Apart from Zoey 101, Spears' credits include All That and the movie Crossroads, which starred her older sister, Britney Spears.

This is deemed to be a pleasant experience for the Zoey star given that her long-time celebrity crush, Ashton Kutcher, is one of the producers of the series. Aside from Miss/Guided, Kutcher is also credited for MTV's Punk'd, The Real Wedding Crashers, and That ‘70s Show.

Fans can catch Jamie Lynn Spears on Zoey 101 every Sunday at 8pm on Nickelodeon.
