Mercedes Benz S-class Policecar Makes a Thief Happy to get Arrested !
Beijing, 160209. The Chinese police likes it's vehicles big, the times of the Xiali have long gone, a Volkswagen Passat is the smallest policecar in use today in Beijing. But deep south in Guangdong province life is even better for law & order and those they arrest.
This S-class was spotted on a parking lot from a police office somewhere in Guangdong. Unfortunately the snapper managed to take just one picture so I can't say for sure whether this is just a little S350 or better.
The interesting thing is that the S has regular police plates and colors, the Chinese government uses Benzes to head motorcades when foreign heads of state visit the country but they look a lot different.
This is one of those, an E-class based limo with 6 doors. This car drives in front of a motorcade and upon arrival bodyguards jump out all doors, minus one, and start doing their thing. Even today these ancient E's are still in service, however it's not regular police but a special army department.
So question remains what the Guangdong Benz will add to a Passat, maybe it's just the new transport for the boss or a gift from a car company in need of something.
